She joined Henley Air in 2006 as a PPL(H) student and assisted at Henley Air’s reception, which unexpectedly became a permanent position, all the whilst completing her Private Pilot License (PPL) training and building her hours towards her Commercial Pilot License (CPL). Once she obtained her CPL(H), she flew a variety of helicopter charter operations, such as: Aerial Photography & Filming, Cargo, Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS), Scenic, Stolen Vehicle Tracking & Recovery, and Vehicle Surveillance operations to name a few. At the same time, she worked her way up and became the Operations Controller of Henley Air. She takes pride in her work and is well-recognised for her attention to detail and efficiency.
Sonia lived in the United Arab Emirates for a short while but has returned to Henley Air as the Operations Controller once again and now has an Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) with an Instrument Rating. She flies on the various Henley Air charters, including her favourite: Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) operations.
She has a great passion for flying HEMS operations - so much so that she fell in love and married a paramedic...talk about irony!
